M is for mitten

To go along with this week's letter of the week (M) and our month-long winter unit, today we played a great mitten matching game! Students -- and Mrs. Connie and Mrs. LeeAnne -- put their gloves and mittens into a big pile. One by one, our children took turns matching up each pair. When all mittens had been matched, we counted the number of pairs.

This game deserves a high-five!

Jokester

Here's a knock-knock joke, as told today by one of our sweet girls:

"Mrs. LeeAnne, do you want to hear a funny joke?"
Oh yes!
"Knock knock."
Who's there?
"Underwear!"
Underwear who?
"No, just underwear. And now you're supposed to laugh because it's so funny!"

Snow!

As we were playing in the classroom after lunch, a peek outside showed SNOW! For a few minutes, it really poured down, and the children were so excited to see it!

We're all hoping for at least one good snow this winter!

Back in a big way

Now that Christmas is over and the new year has started, K3 is off and running in a big way! We have started learning about winter weather -- snow, icicles, frost, and SNOWMEN! :) Today we had show-and-tell, and students were encouraged to bring something relating to the cold weather or winter. We had a lot of different items, some that fit the theme and others ... not so much. But everything was fun! We'll share those pictures soon.

Today was a special day because we also celebrated our Fall Festival win. You may remember that K3 won the prize for Most Creative Booth for our power wheels racetrack. We had a special ice cream party today! The kids enjoyed vanilla ice cream, crushed oreos, chocolate syrup, and sprinkles! (And as I type this, I'm praying that they're somehow still able to sleep during nap time!) While eating our treats, we watched a video called "The Snowman."

What a fun day!
