Five senses, visit to the computer lab

This week, we focused on the sense of touch as we continued our study of the five senses. One of the best activities was a "touch test." Mrs. Connie and Mrs. LeeAnne put different textured items into brown paper bags, and we challenged students to reach inside - no peeking! -describe what they felt, and then guess each item.

Our mystery items included sand, cotton balls, peach pits, a pine cone, cold cooked spaghetti, uncooked spaghetti, and honey.

Earlier this week, we visited the HVCS computer lab! The lab features an interactive Promethean Board which even 3-year-olds can use! Mrs. Connie pulled up a preschool-friendly website, and our kiddos took turns touching the screen when prompted, identifying colors and shapes.

Beginning in K4, all HVCS students attend a special weekly computer class, so this is a great introduction for our K3's. Based on their reaction, I know we will be returning to the lab as soon as possible -- they loved it!
