Love is in the air

If you love pink like our K-3 girls do, February is the month for you! The crafts this month take on a decidedly girly color scheme, but so far all of our boys have been good sports! Today we played Valentine Bingo, and we were surprised at how quickly the children picked up on how to play the game.

When a student had three in a row, they yelled "Bingo!" and received their prize ... three Skittles. Sometimes they'd forget the word "bingo" and yell out "I win!" or "Three!" ... it was fun to see their little minds so focused!

This next simple craft involved pieces of scrap paper. The kids glued pink, white, and red scraps inside a large heart, and we captioned it, "I love you to pieces!"

More fun with q-tips and glue!

This next project turned out much cuter than we expected it to! We wanted something easy that the kids could put their Valentine's in at the party, and when a parent brought in 5x7 mailing envelopes, we decided to turn them into dog houses! A red triangular roof reinforced the color and shape lessons we're learning, and the children had fun decorating their dog houses with Valentine's stickers.

These fit perfectly with our Clifford the Big Red Dog party theme!

At the party, all we'll have to do is place cards into the envelopes and seal them up
... so cute and so easy!

We sure do LOVE all of this Valentine's fun!
