Today it occurred to me that we've never really shown you what our students do first thing in the mornings. First, we usually have one or two "seatwork" tasks for each child to complete. These might include name tracing, a worksheet, or number stamping. After the students finish their seatwork, they are allowed free play. Sometimes free play turns in to a free-for-all, but most of the time the kiddos are well behaved. It's fun seeing what each child chooses to play with ...
These guys were busy writing and playing music.
Some of our kids love writing on the chalkboard--
practicing letters is fun and educational!
These girls opted for the dry-erase board.
But it was this group of boys who inspired me to get out my camera this morning. I was so impressed with them -- not only did they engineer this train loop completely unassisted, but they played together so nicely and cooperatively. Makes a teacher's heart happy!
We have the best kiddos in the world! :)
